INFINITUM Exhibition Photographs. Featuring the work of me (Laura Clarke), Beatrice Haines and Olivia Hicks @ the Natalie Galustian Rare book shop Gallery in Leicester Square.
I am premiering a new body of work called ‘The Cadaver Room’ at City and Guilds of London Art School, as my three year Research Fellowship comes to an end. I would be delighted if you could attend the exhibition, where my work will be showcased alongside graduating MA students of the School of Fine Art.
'The Cadaver Room’ explores the transgressive relationship between the animal and the human forms - stripping both back to their raw, most abject, primitive forms. The work seeks a common trait - the orifices - for it is within these orifices that the confines of the body are overcome. The body of work consists of a central alter piece sculpture - a 14 sided sphere, upon where the boundaries of each facet divide one body from the other at their points of intersection. Nets have been printed from the sculpture and provide an ordered dissection of the piece. In these we see the grotesque body laid out, unraveled and exposed.
Dates for the show are as follows:

Last week I worked with Kate MccGwire and a wonderful team to create and install a large sculptural piece called “Gyre”, at All Visual Arts for the solo show Lure.
Immersed in black feathers for the duration, I became hypnotised by the piece. And I felt honoured to have been a part of something so utterly fantastic!
Feeling Fellow-y today! Back in the wonderful print room at City and Guilds Art School! Oil up those presses! Bring on the students! Lets make some Etchings!
Last week I was offered a very wonderful job. I am now the Fellow at the Royal Academy Schools. You will find me in the print department!
Currently in the studio working on a new etching… Large steel plate etching with gold leaf chine colle, very much work in progress, but exciting never-the-less.
I have been selected to exhibit ‘Leda’ at the RE:Open from 17th August - 2nd September at the Bankside Gallery, London. Here is a sneaky peak of the work being proofed in the studio. 'Leda’ is a very very big screen resist etching. More details to come soon…
